COVID-19 recoveries in Sri Lanka rise to 1,967

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The number of COVID-19 recoveries in the country has increased to 1,967 after 12 more persons who contracted the novel coronavirus were discharged during the past 24 hours.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of the Health said seven persons were discharged from the Welikanda Base Hospital, three persons from the Kattankudy Base hospital and two COVID-19 patients from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases yesterday.

Accordingly, 103 persons are currently receiving medical treatment at nine hospitals across the country.

56 suspected cases are also under medical observation at present.

Meanwhile the number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country has increased to 2,081 after four new cases were detected yesterday.

Accordingly, 905 Navy personnel and 818 recent returnees have contracted the coronavirus since January this year.
