(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Ministry of Higher Education has announced that exams for all final year university students will commence on the 22nd of June.
Speaking at a media briefing held this morning at the University Grants Commission, Chairman of the UGC, Professor Sampath Amaratunga said the conduct of all relevant exams must conclude by the 15th of August, whilst academic activities for all other university students will resume thereafter.
It was also revealed that the number of students, who will be allowed to enter examination halls or be allowed to take practical exams, will be determined according to health services guidelines.
The UGC Chairman further noted that university Vice-Chancellors have been informed to aim to allocate a single student to one room in hostels, wherever possible, whilst students have also been urged to arrive at universities from home if possible.
Moreover it has been prohibited for students to remain at university premises after 7.00 pm.
The UGC Chairman also stated that while exams for all final year medical faculty students will commence from Monday, it has been made mandatory for all administrative officers to report to work from Monday as well.
