Arrest warrant for ASP S Asmadala dismissed

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The request by the Attorney General and the Colombo Crimes Division for an arrest warrant for the former Officer-in-Charge of the Welikada Police Station Assistant Superintendent of Police Sudath Asmadala, has been dismissed.

The request was dismissed by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.

The request for an arrest warrant for ASP Asmadala, was submitted by the CCD and the Attorney General’s Department, on charges of fabricating evidence in the case pertaining to the motor traffic accident linked to former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka, reported in Rajagiriya in 2016.

The CCD and the Attorney General’s Department filed a motion before Court yesterday, requesting a warrant for ASP Asmadala’s arrest.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Kanchana Neranjana de Silva granted bail for ASP Asmadala today.
