Decision on warrant for ASP Asmadala today

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Colombo Magistrates Court will today deliver a decision on whether or not a warrant will be issued for the arrest of the former Officer-in-Charge of the Welikada Police Station, current Assistant Superintendent of Police Sudath Asmadala.

The request for an arrest warrant for ASP Asmadala, was submitted by the Colombo Crimes Division and the Attorney Generals Department.

The Attorney General on Monday informed the Director of the CCD to arrest the former Welikada OIC, on charges of fabricating evidence in the case pertaining to the motor traffic accident linked to former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka, reported in Rajagiriya in 2016.

Accordingly, the CCD and the Attorney General’s Department filed a motion before Court yesterday, requesting a warrant for ASP Asmadala’s arrest.
