(UTV | COLOMBO) – It was not mandatory to all staff members to report to work though the Police Curfew had been lifted, Health Services from today (26), Health Services Director General Anil Jasinghe said.
He also warned that though the government had relaxed the curfew the country was not normalised hundred per cent and hence measures should be taken to prevent infection transmission of COVID-19 virus.
He said it was possible to limit the number of employees working in all institutions. “State institutions and other businesses organisations have been permitted maximum of one-third of the workforce called back to work based on the requirement,” Dr Jasinghe said.
“Colombo is the most densely populated area and Gampaha is second. Therefore, actions should be taken to protect those areas. COVID-19 infected Navy cluster still active in these areas,” he said.
“However, it is compulsory to follow the instructions issued by the Health Ministry regarding preventing spreading COVID-19 virus in the country. “Until these health guidelines are gradually trained, it is inappropriate to summon all the staffers at once,” Dr Jasinghe added.
