Legal action against those fail to maintain social distancing

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Legal action would be taken against those who fail to maintain social distancing in public places with effect from tomorrow, DIG Ajith Roahan said today. He said Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe has issued a circular granting power to the Police to arrest persons who are not maintaining social distance. Accordingly, DIG Rohana said people need to maintain social distancing in public places including banks and supermarkets. Those who violate social distancing would be arrested and produced in the Court.
