(UTV | COLOMBO) – With the reopening of economic activity in the world followed by easing of some travel restrictions between countries, the first passenger flight since the curfew left the country to Doha, Qatar last night (13).
The Qatar Airways flight QR 655 left Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at 8.10 pm yesterday.
The flight carried 110 passengers including Sri Lankans and tourists who were stuck in the country due to travel restrictions.
Meanwhile, SriLankan Airlines has decided to offer services to passengers who are eligible to travel under the respective country travel advisories to London, Tokyo (Narita) Melbourne, and Hong Kong and beyond from today (May 13) onwards.
Currently, most governments are allowing travelers stranded overseas to return to their countries subject to stipulated validity of the respective travel documentation and periods of quarantine.
