Thirty more Navy Personnel from Welisara Naval Base test positive for COVID-19

(UTV | COVID-19) – Another 30 Navy Personnel attached to the Welisara Naval Base have tested positive for the COVID-19.

According to the Commander of the Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, the Welisara Naval Base was cordoned off and the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Tests were conducted both today (24) and yesterday (23) as another group 30 Navy Personnel attached to the same Base had been discovered to have contracted the Virus yesterday.

He noted that further PCR Tests will be conducted tomorrow (25) as well.
