Kurunegala Hospital ETU temporarily shut down

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Emergency Treatment Unit (ETU) of Teaching Hospital in Kurunegala has been temporarily shut down due to a patient with Coronavirus symptoms, who was admitted to the ETU yesterday (09).

Reportedly, a resident of Katupotha in Kurunegala had admitted to the ETU claiming to have some other medical condition, whereby initial check-ups indicated that the patient had Coronavirus symptoms.

Accordingly, he was transferred to the ward assigned for the patients who are suspected to have contracted the virus, while a total of 39 of the hospital staff who were exposed to the suspected-patient have been directed to quarantine.
