101 in Chilaw complete self-isolation period

(UTV | COLOMBO) – 101 persons who arrived in Sri Lanka during the past few weeks, from a number of countries including Italy, have completed a 14-day self isolation period in Chilaw.

The Chilaw Branch of the Public Health Inspectors Union said it oversaw the 14-day self quarantine process while the group is now allowed to engage in day to day activities.

According to available data, 178 persons who arrived from overseas in the past few weeks, are residents of Chilaw.

Those who returned from various countries have been instructed to self-isolate for a period of 14 days.

Following the mandatory quarantine process, they will be allowed to socialize.

According to the PHI Union, the remaining persons will be allowed to carry-out duties without any restrictions after the 14-day self-isolation period.

The PHI warned that even after the 14-day quarantine process, persons who underwent the process can contract the virus and therefore said they must strictly follow health and safety guidelines issued by relevant officials.
