Rains expected says Met. Dept.

(UTV|COLOMBO) – A slight change in prevailing weather condition is expected over the island except for Northern Province, the Department of Meteorology said yesterday.

“Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces and in Galle, Matara and Kurunegala Districts after 2.00 p.m.

A few showers are likely in the eastern coastal areas during the night.

Mainly dry weather will prevail elsewhere,” the department said.

Meanwhile, the temperature in most of the areas was over 30 degrees Celsius with the highest temperature of 36 degrees were recorded from Puttalam.
