281kg of Kerala marijuana found in seas off Jaffna

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Sri Lanka Navy has discovered 281kg of Kerala marijuana in seas off Jaffna.

Navy in a statement said during a patrol carried out in the seas off Nagar Kovil, Jaffna, officers recovered a number of packages floating in the Northern Sea.

The Police Narcotics Bureau said the seized stock is worth over Rs.30 million.

It added Navy officers will continue their raids to foil all attempts made by racketeers to smuggle Kerala Cannabis to the country by sea routes.
