Office Assistants, Drivers at State institutions to be made permanent

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils & Local Government has decided to grant permanent employment to office assistants and drivers who were recruited on temporary, casual, substitute, contract or concessionary basis for State institutions.

The Ministry mentioned that a Circular has also been issued to all Secretaries to the Ministries, Heads of Departments and District Secretaries in this regard.

As per the Circular it is mandatory for these employees to have completed 180 days of service, starting from the 1st of September 2019.

The Combined Services Director of the Public Administration Ministry, Mr. Aloka Bandara has instructed them to submit the documents of the relevant office assistants and drivers who are to be made permanent under this scheme.
