(UTV|COLOMBO) – Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa says the Office of the Leader of the Opposition will be transformed into a helpful and people-friendly institution.
Speaking at a media briefing in Hiniduma, Opposition Leader Premadasa said the Opposition Leader’s office, in future, will intervene to address the grievances of the people who are faced with injustice.
He said yesterday he received the post of the Leader of the Opposition legally after a long delay and pledged to use the post and the office for the benefit of the public.
Opposition Leader Premadasa claimed that in future he will accept complaints and resolve issues of the those who faced injustices due to the actions of the government.
He also accused the government of launching a campaign against the 6.9 million people who voted for him at the last Presidential Election.
MP Sajith Premadasa some have been transferred and some others are harassed for voting against the present government and therefore said the Office of the Opposition Leader will provide assistance to those affected by political vengeance.
