Ranjan Ramanayaka arrested

(UTV|COLOMBO) – UNP MP Ranjan Ramanayaka was arrested by the police a short while ago, the police said.  The MP was taken into custody this afternoon in connection with the finding of a hard disk containing statements, telephone conversations and pictures of a questionable nature.

It is reported that during the search operation a pistol without a valid license for this year and 118 bullets have been confiscated.

Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake’s residence at the Madiwela MP’s housing scheme was searched by the Colombo south crimes division this afternoon and the search warrant was also issued by the Nugegoda additional magistrate H. U. K. Pelpola.
