Fowzie responds to SLFP’s disciplinary letter

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Parliamentarian AHM Fowzie says he has responded to a letter he received from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party pertaining to disciplinary action.

Speaking to a prominent online news portal the MP said, he noted in his letter that he has not violated the party’s code of conduct.

MP Fowzie said he is awaiting a response to his letter from the SLFP.

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party on the 4th of September decided to take disciplinary action against five National List MPs, SB Dissanayake, Dilan Perera, AHM Fowzie, Wijith Wijayamuni Zoysa and Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena.

General Secretary of the SLFP Dayasiri Jayasekara said the letters called for the five MPs to explain their decision to obtain membership with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
