(UTV|COLOMBO) – People have already chosen Minister Sajith Premadasa as the Presidential candidate of the United National Party (UNP), Minister Mangala Samaraweera stated.
Minister Samaraweera stressed that this is evident by responses to “Sajith Ratatama Enawa (සජිත් රටටම එනවා)” rallies where thousands of people attended in Badulla, Matara, and particularly in Kurunegala which is represented by Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Minister made these remarks upon reaching Jaffna by train for the Enterprise Sri Lanka programme scheduled to be commenced from today (07).
Minister Samaraweera further emphasised that there is nothing left to discuss and agree on UNP Presidential candidate but to declare it official, as the people have already chosen Minister Premadasa.
Therefore, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will announce it before long, he added.
