(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘Shoor’ arrived at Colombo port yesterday (04) on a goodwill and training visit. The ship was ceremonially received by the Sri Lanka Navy in compliance with naval traditions and customs on arrival at the port.
Upon her arrival, the Commanding Officer of the ship Deputy Inspector General Surendra Singh Dasila paid a courtesy call on Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Niraja Atigala. Signifying the importance of the official meeting, mementoes were also exchanged.
The visiting naval crew of the ship is scheduled to take part several training sessions and a wide range of activities organized by the Sri Lanka Navy. Strengthening the mutual friendship, naval personnel of both countries would attend several friendly sporting events during the visit. The ship is due to leave Sri Lanka on 8th April.
