“Eid al-Adha is a time of prayer and reflection” – Haleem

(UTV|COLOMBO) – “Eid al-Adha is a time of prayer and reflection, as much as it is a time of celebration. On this day we are reminded of sacrifices we have to make as Muslims,” the Minister of Postal Services, and Muslim Religious Affairs Abdul Haleem stated in his Hajj message.

Full Text of the Minister’s Hajj Festival message;

Known as the Festival Sacrifice, Eid al-Adha is a time when millions of Muslims around the world perform acts of charity and celebrate with family and friends. It is a time to remember the message of compassion for those less fortunate, and share what we have with others.

This blessed day should remind us of the values of compassion and empathy and prompt us all to show extra kindness to those around us, and give back to our society. These values are more relevant today than ever before. We must all come together in our communities and as a society, to draw strength from our shared humanity.

On behalf of the Muslim Affairs Ministry, I would like to wish you all a blessed Eid al-Adha.
