Double-murder convict hacked to death in Hambantota

(UTV|COLOMBO) – During a search conducted by the Navy and STF in the Siribopura area, Hambantota, two drug traffickers were arrested with crystal methamphetamine, also known as ice, and hashish.

Naval personnel attached to the Southern Naval Command, during a raid conducted yesterday (28) with the officers of Panwewa STF camp apprehended these suspects with 8 packets containing 860mg of ice and another 2 packets containing 360mg of hashish, in Siribopura area.

The apprehension was made while the suspects were selling drugs. Further investigation revealed that they are among the main drug traffickers in the region.

The two suspects have been identified as residents of the same locality, aged 19 and 22. The suspects along with seized substances were handed over to the Hambantota Police for onward legal action, the navy said.
