Two drug traffickers held by Navy in Hambantota

(UTV|COLOMBO) – During a search conducted by the Navy and the Special Task Force (STF) in Siribopura area, Hambantota on Sunday (28), 2 drug traffickers were held with crystal methamphetamine (Ice) and hashish.

Naval Personnel attached to the Southern Naval Command, during a raid conducted with the officials of Panwewa STF apprehended these 2 suspects with 8 packets containing 860 milligrams of ice and another 2 packets containing 360 milligrams of hashish, in Siribopura area. The apprehension was made while the suspects were selling drugs. Further investigation revealed that they are drug traffickers in the region.

The two suspects have been identified as residents of the same locality, aged 19 and 22. The suspects along with seized substances were handed over to the Hambantota Police for onward legal action.
