(UTV|COLOMBO) – Oscar nominee and Marvel Studios regular Don Cheadle has joined the cast of the “Space Jam” sequel at Warner Bros. Pictures.
LeBron James leads a cast that includes basketball stars like Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, Diana Taurasi, Klay Thompson, and Nneka and Chiney Ogwumike.
Cheadle marks only the second full-time actor to be cast in the film, the other being “The Walking Dead” and “Star Trek: Discovery” star Sonequa Martin-Green who will play James’ wife. Cheadle’s role is under wraps.
Filming is expected to get underway this summer with Terence Nance (“Random Acts of Flyness”) helming from a script by Sev Ohanian (“Searching”) and Ryan Coogler (“Black Panther”). “Space Jam 2” will arrive in cinemas on July 16th 2021.
