LKR appreciates against the US Dollar by 3.6%

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Central Bank says the Rupee had appreciated against the US dollar by 3.6 percent in 2019.

According to the latest CBSL statement, the Sri Lanka Rupee appreciated against the British Pound, Japanese yen, the euro and the Indian rupee during the year 2019.

Meanwhile the gross official reserves were estimated at US dollars 6.7billion as at May 31st of May 2019.

The Central Bank said the total outstanding market liquidity was a surplus of Rs. 44.49 billion by end of the week, compared to a surplus of Rs. 71.23 billion by the end of last week.
