Mujibur debunks baseless Opposition allegations on Minister Bathiudeen [VIDEO]

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The United National Party (UNP Parliamentarian Mujibur Rahman on Wednesday (22) denied the allegation that Minister Rishad Bathiudeen and himself threatened to leave the Government at the Government Parliamentarians’ Group Meeting if a Motion of No-Confidence against the latter be taken up in Parliament.

Referring to a statement made by the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian, Padma Udhayashantha Gunasekera, Rahman stated the latter and his Party Leader are making false allegations.

“People don’t talk about me, the ones who talk about me is you and your irresponsible Leader. You all have claimed that Minister Bathiudeen has threatened to leave the Government at our Group Meeting. You have said that I will also leave the Government. Don’t make such false statements. Honourable Speaker, I urge you do make this Parliamentarian undergo a brain check-up since he keeps uttering lies in the House,” he stressed.

Udayashantha in his speech mentioned Rahman’s name and the names of 2 Governors in Eastern and Western Provinces and claimed that “People are talking about their alleged connection to the extremist factors.”
