Jemaine Clement joins the “Avatar” sequels

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Comedian Jemaine Clement has been cast in the upcoming “Avatar” sequels.

The news was announced via the film’s official social media accounts this morning, with the “Flight of the Conchords” and “Men in Black 3” actor playing Dr. Garvin, a marine biologist stationed on Pandora.

Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Vin Diesel and Oona Chaplin are joining the sequels alongside several young actors and returning cast members like Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald and Sigourney Weaver.

Stephen Lang’s Colonel Quaritch is coming back for all four sequels and will be the main villain throughout the story. “Avatar 2” was recently pushed back a full year from December 18th 2020 to December 17th 2021. As a result, the subsequent sequels were shuffled and will now open at two-year intervals – December 22nd 2023. December 19th 2025 and December 17th 2027.
