India issues a travel advisory on Sri Lanka

(UTV|COLOMBO) – India has issued a travel advisory for its nationals to reconsider travel to Sri Lanka in view of the Easter Sunday bombings that killed over 250 people, including 10 Indians.

The Indian government has requested citizens not to undertake any non-essential travel to Sri Lanka post the attacks in view of the prevailing security situation in Sri Lanka in the aftermath of terror attacks on the 21st of April.

Meanwhile all Indian nationals undertaking essential or emergency travels have been requested to contact the High Commission of India in Colombo or the Assistant High Commission in Kandy or the Consulates in Hambantota and Jaffna in case of requirement of any assistance.
