Govt. decides to increase estate workers’ daily wage

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Government on Tuesday (26) decided to increase the daily wage of estate workers by Rs. 50, as per the request by Estate Workers’ Trade Unions.

Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers agreed to grant permission to allocate Rs. 1.2 billion from the Treasury to the Ministry of Plantation Industries to make the daily additional payment of Rs. 50.
