Second Special Court to commence functioning from March 14

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Minister of Justice and Prison Reforms, Thalatha Atukorale on Wednesday (06) stated that the Second Permanent High Court at Bar is scheduled to commence functioning from 14 March.

The Second Permanent High Court at Bar will be located at Hulftsdorp where the first Special Court is located.

The Cabinet of Ministers had given approval for the establishment three Special High Courts with an objective of expediting the cases of mass scale corruption and financial misappropriations.

The Government presented the Bill on 06 March to set up permanent High Court-at-Bar to expedite cases of large scale corruption and financial crimes.
