(UTV|COLOMBO) – Sony Pictures has set a Wednesday, December 22nd 2021 release date for a fourth film in the “Hotel Transylvania” animated film franchise.
The sequel will open opposite the long in the works “Wicked” film adaptation at Universal Pictures, an untitled live-action Disney film, and an untitled animated film at Warners. “Avatar 3” is also out at the same time.
“Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation” opened last year and brought in $528.5 million worldwide, the highest grossing of the franchise. The three films, all directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, have made $1.36 billion worldwide.
Whether Tartakovsky will return is unclear.
