Stallone turns superhero in “Samaritan”

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Sylvester Stallone is attached to star in the superhero film “Samaritan” which MGM has acquired in a competitive bidding situation.

Bragi F. Schut (“Escape Room”) penned the spec script which is dubbed a dark, fresh take on the superhero genre. The story centers on a boy learning that a missing superhero, who vanished twenty years earlier after a battle, may still be alive. Balboa Productions will produce and develop the project in conjunction with MGM.

Stallone and Braden Aftergood will produce – the pair having several projects in development including an adaptation of James Byron Huggins’ novel “Hunter,” an adaptation of the FBI memoir “Ghost.” and a special ops-set film penned by retired Army Ranger Max Adams.
