(UTV|COLOMBO) – Dwayne Johnson has announced on Twitter that production is underway on the untitled third film in the “Jumanji” franchise.
A direct sequel to 2017’s “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” Johnson joins fellow returnees Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas as the other avatars; Ser’Darius Blain, Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, and Morgan Turner who are back as the game playing teens; and newcomers to the series Awkwafina, Danny DeVito and Danny Glover.
Earlier this month Johnson told fans he declined to host the Oscars because of filming commitments to this, and that he was actually the first choice to host this year. Jake Kasdan will return to direct with a screenplay he co-wrote with Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner. The film opens December 13th.
