Appointments of Chairmen for State-owned tourism bodies postponed

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Several well-placed sources speculated that the appointment of Chairmen for all State-owned Tourism Institutes has been postponed following an intervention of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The nominees who were approved by President Maithripala Sirisena were scheduled to be appointed in a special ceremony at 11.00 AM on Tuesday (29).

It is reported that the appointment of Kishu Gomes as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), Ranjith De Silva as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), Dilip De Silva as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Institute of Hotel Management (SLITHM), and Kumar de Silva as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) have been postponed until further confirmation of the Premier.
