President appoints Commission of Inquiry

(UTV|COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed a Commission of Inquiry to investigate into the corruption and malpractices between 15 January 2015 to 31 December 2018, the President’s Media Division (PMD) stated.

The Retired Supreme Court Judge Upali Abeyrathna has been named as the Chairman of the Commission while the Retired High Court Judge Sarojani Kusala Weerawardena, Retired Auditor General K. A. Premathilake, Lalith R. De Silva, Retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Vijaya Amarasinghe appointed as its members.
