Slight change in dry weather from today – Met. Department

(UTV|COLOMBO) – A slight change in the prevailing dry weather can be expected from Thursday (10), the Department of Meteorology stated.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Uva Province, and in Batticaloa, Ampara, Matale and Hambantota Districts.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Western Provinces, and in Galle and Matara Districts after 2.00 PM.

Several spells of showers may occur in Polonnaruwa District, the Met. Department stressed.

Fairly heavy falls of about 75 millimetres can be expected at some places in the Galle, Matara, Ratnapura, Ampara, and Batticaloa Districts.

Fairly strong gusty winds up to 40 kilometres per hour can be expected over North-Western Province, and in Monaragala, Ampara and Hambantota Districts.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa Province during the morning.
