SLPP to form a new political alliance; Discussions underway with 28 political parties

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) is discussing the possibility of forming a new political alliance with 28 political parties, the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena stated.

Lakshman Yapa stressed that the efforts are to build a broad alliance to establish a Government that would fulfil the aspirations of the people.

He further noted the significance of a group of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) members in the Moratuwa Municipal Council joining hands with the SLPP.

The Moratuwa Municipal Council is controlled by the SLPP.
