Plantation workers to launch indefinite strike from today

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Plantation workers have decided to launch an indefinite strike from Tuesday (04), as the discussions with Plantation Companies have ended inconclusively.

The Leader of the Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC) and Parliamentarian Arumugam Thondaman on Monday (03) requested all plantation workers to join in an indefinite strike from today, until the Plantation Companies agree with their request to increase workers daily wages to Rs. 1,000.
