(UTV|COLOMBO) – A suspect has been arrested for the possession of counterfeit currency notes amounting to Rs 250,000 in the Thekka Watta area in Vavuniya.
Vavuniya Police said that the arrest was seizure was made during an operation carried yesterday (03) based on a tip-off received.
The individual was arrested while attempting to purchase cannabis from a cannabis dealer using counterfeit money, police said.
The suspect arrested with the fake currency notes has been identified as a 24-year-old youth from Puttalam.
