Police arrested 15 South Eastern University students

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Police has been arrested 15 students who forcibly occupied the administrative building of South Eastern University today (25).

The administration of the South Eastern University in Oluvil, Ampara had taken steps to close down the university indefinitely from yesterday (24) as a result of the prevailing crisis situation in the University.

Vice Chancellor of South Eastern University Professor MMM Najeem said that this decision was taken as a result of a group of about 20 students forcibly occupying the Administration building of the university.

The administration of the university has lodged three complaints with the police regarding the student’s interruption and in response to the complaints the Akkaraipattu Magistrate’s Court has issued a directive to remove those students from the university.
