Showers or thundershowers expected today

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The severe Cyclonic Storm “TITLI” in the Bay of Bengal was located near 18.7N, 84.9E, at 02.00 am today. The system is located 1200 km away from Trincomalee and it is likely to intensify further, move North-westwards towards Andhra Pradesh and enter the coast of India today morning.

The prevailing showery condition in the south western part of the Island expected to reduce some extend from today.

Showers or thundershowers will occur in Central, Southern and Uva provinces and in Kaluthara and Rathnapura

Districts and Fairly heavy falls about 75 mm can be expected at some places.

Showers or thundershowers will occur several places elsewhere particularly after 2.00p.m.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity
