Three people arrested with goods stolen from President’s House

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Three people have been arrested by the Welikada Police while attempting to sell goods stolen from the President’s House in Colombo Fort.

The Police Media Division said the suspects, aged 28, 34 and 37 are residents of Obeysekarapura, Rajagiriya.

The suspects have stolen 40 brass sockets that were attached on the walls of the President’s House to hang curtains.

They have stolen the goods when a group of protesters stormed the President’s House on the 9th of July.

Investigative officers have indicated that the suspects appear to be drug addicts. The suspects are to be handed over to Anti-Vice Unit of Colombo-North.
