“New constitution should not require a referendum” – Min. Nimal Siripala

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva stated that it was the responsibility of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) to draft a Constitution that does not need to go through a referendum.

He also dismissed the allegation that the new constitution was in favour of a Federal Government.

He believes the new constitution would strengthen the unity of the country and form a new electoral system.
