Prevailing weather conditions to continue

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Due to active south-west monsoon, windy condition is expected to strengthen over the island and in the sea areas around the island in next few days, from 06 June.

Prevailing showery and cloudy conditions in south-western part will continue further.

Showers or Thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western provinces.

Fairly heavy falls above 75 mm can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Mathara districts.

Showers or thundershower may occur at a few places in Ampara, Badulla and Batticaloa districts after 2.00p.m.

Light showers may occur at few places in Mannar and Anuradhapura districts.

Fairly strong gusty winds up to 50 kmph can be expected over Southern province and Monaragala, Matale, Nuwara-Eliya and Polonnaruwa districts.
