Colombo MC seeks Police, military assistance to nab people disposing waste illegally

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) has sought assistance from the Police and the Military to catch people disposing solid waste indiscriminately at public places.

Acting Municipal Council Commissioner Lalith Wickramaratne said strict legal action will be taken against those who engage in disposing garbage illegally violating waste management regulations.

The CMC official also said that from today the council will refrain from collecting un-sorted garbage.
