A group of disabled policemen stage a protest in Fort

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – A group of disabled war heroes from the police and Special Task Force (STF) have launched a protest in front of Colombo Fort Railway Station demanding pensions and promotions.

The Chairman of Sri Lanka Police Disabled War Heroes Association (SLPDWHA) Asela Kumara has stated to media that the department has delayed granting those pensions and promotions as promised.

However, the government has stated on an earlier occasion that the pension for disabled war heroes who served for the country less than 10-years and other ranking officers who have not completed 12-years in service would be paid out pensions effective from this month.
