“I re-entered political sphere to respond to criticisms” – Rajapakse

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Former President cum Kurunegala District Parliamentarian (MP) Mahinda Rajapaksa says he retired from politics, however re-entered the political arena to respond to the criticisms levelled against him.

Speaking to media in Kandy, MP Mahinda Rajapaksa said the present government is moving towards a dictatorship.

The Former President said answers had to be provided when he was criticized and when the government arrested individuals attached to the Joint Opposition (JO).

MP Rajapaksa said he was automatically brought back into the political sphere when answers were provided through the media and rallies.
