International support needed to achieve goals – President

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena says Sri Lanka expects support of all nations in order to achieve economic development and to reach development goals of the country.

The President made these remarks when the Ambassadors of Mongolia, Lithuania and Panama and the new Indian High Commissioner presented their credentials to President Sirisena at the President’s House today (24th Wednesday).

The President also briefed the envoys about the three main objectives of the government, economic development, poverty alleviation and reconciliation in order to prevent recurrence of a conflict.

President Sirisena stressed that the government is committed to ensure democracy in the country.
