History to remain in syllabus- NIE

UTV | COLOMBO – The National Institute of Education says a decision has not been reached to remove the history subject from the school syllabus.

Issuing a statement the Director General of the Institute TRRJ Gunasekara said articles which appeared on various newspapers claiming the history subject will be removed from the syllabus are false.

The Director General noted the Institute changes the syllabus once in eight years with the help of educational specialists adding the Institute has no plans of removing history from the school syllabus.
