Annual Academic Session of College of Medical Laboratory Science held under President’s patronage

(UTV|COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena says that the present Government is committed to take forward the Sri Lankan health care service maintaining a high quality while updating the field of medical science which changes every second with the findings of the researches and innovations around the world.

The President said that the Government is ready to provide all the necessary facilities in this regard, addressing the Annual Academic Session 2017- College of Medical Laboratory Science, Sri Lanka held at the auditorium of the KAATSU International University, Battaramulla, on Monday (20).

President Sirisena further said that the professionals who are in the medical laboratory field, which plays a vital role in health care, today have the opportunity to take forward their educational stage to a degree level.

The President said Sri Lanka has earned a higher international recognition due to the qualitative value of Sri Lankan health service. He said the people of the country are grateful to all health sector professionals on this regard.

President Sirisena commended the excellent service rendered by laboratory professionals by expediting the blood test services while the Dengue epidemic was spread all around the country recently.

“In keeping with the Government’s policy to strengthen the free health service the Government will provide all required facilities to enhance the standard and quality of the health sector”, the President said.

He presented awards to laboratory professionals who rendered an excellent service to the field.

Director General of Health Services Dr. Jayasundara Bandara, Director of National Hospital Colombo Dr. Anil Jasinghe, and Chairman of the Sri Lanka Society for Medical Laboratory Science Dr. Ravi Kumudesh were among those participated in this occasion.
