Prime Minister Ranil meets global leaders

(UDHAYAM, SWITZERLAND) – Free trade and openness should be ensured while refusing protectionism to uplift the global economy said President of People’s Republic of China Xi JinPin Addressing the opening ceremony of the World Economic Summit in Davos Switzerland the Chinese President further said that no one wins the economic war. Therefore the global economic development in the future should be a united effort ensuring benefits for all.

Prior to the opening ceremony of the World Economic Summit Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe met with Bangladesh Prime Minister Hasina Wajid, Serbian Prime Minister Alexander Vucic and Switzerland President Dorris Leonard and had special discussions.

At these discussions attention was paid to Chinese investments in Sri Lanka. emphasis was Ideas were exchanged about the Hambantota port and the free trade zone as well as the financial city being built in Colombo.

Under the one road one belt initiative of China around 100 countries and businesses have launched different programs said the Chinese President.
