Iran sympathises with Sri Lankan flood victims

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson expressed condolences to the Government of Sri Lanka over deaths in floods and landslides in the country.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Bahram Ghasemi expressed his sympathy on Monday (29) with the Sri Lankan people affected by floods and landslides happened on Saturday in southern parts of the country.

Ghasemi expressed his sorrow over the unfortunate incident that left scores killed or missing and sympathized with the Sri Lankan people and government, the Foreign Ministry said.

Landslides and floods in Sri Lanka have killed at least 169 people and the island nation faces the risk of more mudslides as torrential rains continue.
